Happy Resurrection Sunday from LPP!

Hey, all!

I am so sorry I have not been around here! I have felt so bad...so far removed...so distant...but I have been really busy at home and with work and I do remember all of you in prayer daily!

He is Risen Indeed! What a beautiful Resurrection Sunday it was here in Montreal...the sun was shining...and my sister and I were baptized at our church! It was amazing! We have such amazing supportive friends there who are like family to us...we are just so blessed! I am bursting to tell everyone about my exciting time today, so I thought I'd share this with my dear Pals. My grandparents were there (a first for my grandma and she even said she would be back!), my dad's cousin was there, and so many people hugged my sister and I that I lost count and there were so many strangers that were in church that congratulated me--they all made us feel so special! Which really meant a lot because I was soooo nervous last night I couldn't fall alseep :( LOL! My pastor gave us each a beautiful leather study Bible with our name on it, too! But most importantly, I pray that people there were touched by the six testimonies shared by the Believers being baptized. I shared John 3:1-21 by memory and messed up on one verse and said it a little too fast, but all I could think of was that I was taking too long to say it and there were 4 more waiting to be baptized ;)

We are going south next Sunday for almost two weeks...please pray that we travel safely!

Love and Prayers to all of you,
LPP

Waiting on the Lord...

Hi Pals!

I have watched the brand-new movie "Fireproof" four times in the last 2 weeks....yes, I love it, and no, you can't buy it yet, but you can request it to review it, as I found out! There is a song on there that really struck me...it is called "While I'm Waiting" and it's by John Waller. I researched it and found the following verses that he put with it...here they are below:

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. Psalm 5:3

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. Psalm 27:14

Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. Psalm 33:20

Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Psalm 37:7

For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God. Psalm 38:15

I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. Psalm 40:1

And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him. Isaiah 3

The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. Lamentations 3:24

His explanation for the song is:

"The explanation for this song is simple, I was waiting on God and I was hurting when I wrote the lyrics. I probably wouldn’t have written
a song if my friend, Mike, hadn’t encouraged me to document what I was going through during that time. I’m sure there are few people
who can’t relate to this song, but the important thing to remember while we’re waiting on God is to not just wait but to actively wait.
Serve, worship and be faithful with what you have, where you are… “even while (you) wait.”

The song really hit home for me, so I am posting it here...I hope it encourages you, too. The scene in this youtube video is from Fireproof. When you see where it is in sequence of the movie, it is extremely touching...I cried the first few times when I watched that scene!

Enjoy, and God bless you as you patiently wait on Him!

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31

Please pray for the US Elections!

Hi Pals!

I don't want to take away from Mrs. Butler's birthday posts, but I just want to put up a reminder to PLEASE PRAY for the elections today in the U.S.A. Unfortunately, somehow I lost my absentee ballot (it's floating around this house somewhere!), so I have as much say in this election as the Canadian Pals do...but we can pray---pray for God's Will to be done, whether it means a good leader or a bad leader gets elected, that it will be God's Will fulfilled. It says in the Bible that He rains upon the righteous and on the unrighteous; He sets up kings and takes them away...

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people. -Proverbs 14:34

Here's a movie and song I really love...

Hello all!

Hi Pals!

I just wanted to greet you all and thank you for your continued prayer for my family. Please pray especially for my grandparents: they are not saved, but my grandfather has started going to church with us. The church service is in English, which he does not understand, but I translate a bit, and show him the verses in his Spanish Bible. On the other hand, my uncle who is a Jehovah's Witness has given them a NWT "bible" and I am a bit concerned that he may attempt to confuse them , or discourage my grandpa from going to church with us. Thank you for your prayers!

Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.
And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.

-2 Corinthians 1:2-7

God bless you all!

Upcoming Event in Ottawa

Hello, Pals!

I read about this event recently, called "The Cry"...and as it says on their website (
http://www.thecry.ca/), "...THIS IS NOT A CONCERT. THIS IS NOT A CONFERENCE. THIS IS A CRY." It is a big gathering of Canadian Christians, particularly young people, in Ottawa to pray together for our country, and her people. I was very moved as I read their website and watched the videos on it...and I thought I'd put this up on Pals in case any in Ottawa or elsewhere in Ontario might be interested in going to this event. It is next Saturday, August 23rd, beginning at 9:30am and continuing into the evening. My sister and I asked my mom about our family going, but I don't think we are going to be able to make it. Here is their official promo video.....

The video below illustrates the temptations and problems facing young Canadians today as well as talking about the many unreached lost Canadians...viewer discretion advised...it made me cry!

Let's all never forget to pray for the nation of Canada together!

Great Movie Coming Out!

Hi, Pals!

My family and I have watched the DVD "Facing the Giants" so many times since we got it in March, we just watched "Flywheel" and now we are eagerly anticipating the release of "Fireproof." These movies were made my a Baptist church in Georgia and their first two are absolutely amazing, considering the resources they used (Flywheel was all amateur and made on a $20,000 budget; Facing the Giants' production included only 4 professionals). I have been getting updates via e-mail on Fireproof-- in theaters Sept. 26--, and watching all the teaser trailers as they come out. Their official trailer was just released recently.

I encourage you all to sign up for the updates and tell friends and family about it....looks as though this is going to be another excellent movie with a great message. They sent out an update today with a scene from the movie in it, and the analogy used in this scene is so practical, I can't stop thinking about it (you'll have to watch it to see!).

You can go to www.fireproofthemovie.com and watch the official trailer. I wanted to post it, but either youtube is working slow, or everyone is watching that movie :(

Just thought I'd share what my family and I are all excited for. And if you haven't seen Facing the Giants yet, I highly recommend it. My dad LOVED that movie...it encouraged him so much. He said even when he couldn't concentrate on watching it (in his last month he couldn't), the music alone ministered to him.

God bless you all!

LPP's Family's Van

Hello Pals!

Well, the man didn't show up this evening....thank you for praying, anyways! What a disappointment it was though. So, we continue to pray for the right person to come along and buy our van. My mom and LMG shined up the outside today and scrubbed the inside--it looks like new now ;) They did a really great job. I hope any interested buyers will appreciate their hard work!

Thank you for your prayers, as we continue to pray for our van to sell.

Prayer Request for LPP's van

Hello dear Pals!

I am so excited...we just got an e-mail about an hour ago from someone interested in our van. Now let me first explain, this is very RARE...in fact, all this time it has been listed we have only gotten four e-mails including this one, and one was fake and another was an offer to trade for something in french that I didn't understand, but I digress!! I called the gentleman up and got his voicemail...he phoned my back half an hour ago and...

He is coming to see the van tomorrow night at 7pm!

Can you please pray with me that he will buy it? and if he is not the one then that God would send "THE one" to buy it soon? We are picking up the new one tomorrow afternoon, and we had hoped to sell the old one sooner, but God has other plans. One thing I know for sure, He is teaching me patience in a lot of areas of my life right now :)

Thank you for all your prayers!

Greetings from LPP

Hello, dearest Pals!

I have missed you all as I have not been around the computer lately. My sister has kept me caught up on all the prayer requests, posts, and birthdays. Happy Belated Birthday to all the Pals whose birthdays I've missed ;)

Last Thursday we were treated to an Alouettes football game--wow, that was amazing. The Als won, we got lots of photos, but the highlights that stood out to me had ery little to do with the game itself...we were seated a few rows lower than the local radio station's broadcast booth, and during a cheerleaders show, my little brother ran up to the window of the broadcast booth and handed the color guy (a former player) a versecard we'd made. My sister was listening to the game on her walkman as she sat next to me. Suddenly she burst out, "You'd never believe it! They just read that on air! They just read Philippians 4:13 on air (I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me) and followed it up with 'Was that a message from the Saviour for the Alouettes?'" We both glanced up at the broadcasters and shot them a big beaming smile. Wow...that was special. A Bible verse was read on air during a football broadcast...wow! Then, after the game, we were brought down on the field by the chaplain, Tom Paul, (who was the minister at my dad's funeral) and he introduced us to a few of the players. Once again, I dug through my camera bag and wallet and gave my younger siblings versecards which they handed out to different players we met. It was an amazing experience! Like a dream come true...

I just thought you Pals would love to hear that. It encouraged us a lot, especially having that verse read on air! By the way, the versecard I snatched off the web and put here is NOT the one we gave out, but we love this one, too. I think it is out of print now, but we used to give this particular design out all the time! I don't want to post pics of our versecards because I am always concerned about copyright infringements (and not by Pals either!), but if anyone would like to see ours, I can e-mail it to a Pal to e-mail out :) I believe ours is the first-ever hockey-themed verse card to hit the market, and we have high hopes for it.

God bless you all. Thank you for all your prayers and encouragement!

Prayer Request for LPP's family

Hello dearest Pals!

Yipee! I get to post this all by myself without having to ask one of you to post it for me!! ;)

First of all, thank you for all your prayers! You Pals are such a blessing to me and my family.

I have another prayer request...we have a 12-passenger van that we need to sell to downsize to a vehicle more suitable for us. We have ordered it, and will get it in about 2 weeks, but in the meantime our GMC Savana extended version has been listed on various online sites in an effort to sell it quickly. We had someone who was very interested in it, but then he bought another van instead. Can you please pray that someone will come in God's perfect timing and buy the van for the price my mom would like for it? She is selling it at an excellent price, and she does not need the added stress of someone haggling her down too low. If any Pal (or lurker at Pals!) knows of a large family or church or just someone who needs a large van, please check out the following link. http://www.autocatch.com/used-cars/2003~gmc~savana~49924.htm

Passing-thru, Recently a few Pals were talking about how they prayed for you to come back when you were absent for awhile...well, do you recall last year when you got your new job and was tired and I told you how I was cleaning a neighbor's house? I shared with you that when I was tired there, I thought of you and prayed for you. Even when you were away from Pals, I still thought of you while I cleaned and prayed for you-- and all the Pals, for that matter! I just wanted to let you know that! Tomorrow I will be cleaning, so guess what I'll be doing while I'm there :)

Thank you for your prayers!

Update on Lil' Pilgrim Pals Father.....

Dearest Pals,

It has been so long since I wrote you all a real update on my dad and our family in general, and so much has happened. I will try to recap in chronological order.First the swelling in my dad’s foot went down so much that it almost looked normal: he was shuffling about without crutches for short distances; he didn’t have any pain; he had so much energy that he would go without napping easily. And then it all changed for the worse: the pain came back in his foot, the swelling returned to look like what it did last year, and his energy waned. I don’t know what happened, only God knows. At any rate, as everything began to bother him again, his morale grew very low again, too. My mom always tells us that she can tell us something until she is blue in the face, but we will only see it when the Spirit reveals it to us through God’s work in our heart. So it goes with my dad…we children get so frustrated that he isn’t happy, etc. but that doesn’t change his attitude. Only God can do that.

It is so hard some days. I stay busy so as not to think about it, but that doesn’t change the situation…Two weeks ago the hospital visits began again after a small break after chemo. First he went to the orthopaedic dr., and then for a CT scan: we haven’t gotten the results yet. However, he did have an x-ray, in which he saw that nothing had changed either way in his foot. Changes take a year to take place and be noticed, so this is good news in that it hasn’t gotten any worse. However, on further review from the doctors, they decided to tell my dad he will need 5 radiation treatments on his foot, 5 days in a row. That is NOT good news. I cringe just writing it. He is so exhausted after a trip out, and they are asking for 5 consecutive days out?! When my mom told me, I expressed my concern, but she gently reminded me that it is my dad’s decision to go with it, or re-schedule it. She said that she will do the research and contact his childhood friend who has been such a help, having gone through cancer and now a naturopathic doctor and she will give my dad the info so that he can better answer the doctors. It eats me up just thinking of it.

They don’t know what a busy time of year this is for us….Speaking of which, my sister and I were looking forward to a trip to Ottawa on May 1st, but my aunt called the other day to say that she is coming up at the beginning of May for my mom’s birthday!!! This is my favourite aunt, on whose birthday I was born. I am soooo excited! Two weeks later we are going to Ottawa as a family with other homeschooling families apart of our newspaper to visit Parliament, several MP’s, and museums. That is a joy to look forward to, as well. If only every day were half as much a joy…I’ve stopped dog-walking for now…my client moved away and left me their duplex to manage, and some work to take care of. A different job than I’ve ever dreamed of, but fun and rewarding all the same.

Speaking of fun, my siblings have been selling Habs flags at the corner, and they are really having fun! They’ve sold over half of the amount purchased, and are making a lot of profit off it.This post is really long, but I wanted to share a song that my youngest brother really liked from my sister’s Greater Vision CD, and it has really touched all of us. I’ll leave it in a separate comment if someone can just post it separately please.Thank you for your prayers and encouragement.
