Good Report From Amrita

Praise God we returned home on Saturday evening.
Mother Hazel 's laparoscopy was successful.
On the 13th they ran several tests and the surgery took
place on 14th evening.
Several people came to pray and
to encourage us.
My Pastor, his wife and Sonia
were a great help.

Mama has to get her strength and appetite back.
She has to have her sutures removed after 5 days.

Thank you so much for your
prayers and good wishes.
Everyday I read God 's promises from the Bible
and prayed with mother.
He is true to His Word

It's the Birthday Pal

Thanks for the birthday prayers I'm sure you Pals offered up for me. Please continue to pray regarding my mental health. Having suffered two emotional "breakdowns" in the last 3 years has sure taken a toll on my overall confidence about getting out and living life and trust in God has sure been shaken to the core as well.

I can't imagine why God allowed all that happened in my life in the last 3 years. Maybe it'll all make me a much better - wiser missionary someday. Perhaps only someone who has experienced such darkness can enter into another person's darkness to lead them out to the LIGHT. If that is the reason (even partly) - if it makes me a better disciple/missionary, it will all be worth it. Most days it is hard to see that possibility.....I lack a great deal of confidence in myself and even in God at times.

Terry, thanks for your wonderful post....just a little correction. The bunny pictured is my dearly departed Noah (2007). Alfie is the new bun on the block...well, not that new, he is just over a year old and as mischievous as they come!! See picture below...sampling my flowers!

happy belated birthday dear pilgrim pal julie

little missionary julie or little big missionary julie,as felisol calls her, has been a beloved pilgrim pal since a few weeks after david fisher created the pilgrim pals blog in 2007.
one evening without warning she popped into our lives and our lives haven't been the same since!
she is an ottawa girl who loves the spanish speaking people and who has often used her work holidays to visit mexico and be a missionary. this has always been the burning desire of her heart ....to be a missionary.
following is a post that little missionary julie wrote for the pilgrim pals encouragement one day.

"When I woke up this morning I was faced with a choice - to go to church or laze around the apartment. Being single, I often do not feel accountable to get up and get going. Hey, after all, I thought, it's a beautiful, sunny day - why not go to the beach or just sit on my balcony and read the Bible and other Christian literature. God wouldn't mind - He knows I love Him! I'll honor him with my prayers and worship at home. Then something occurred to me - corporate worship is powerful and brings honour to God. So, off I went to church and it was a beautiful time of worship - the power of corporate praise - wow!! Can't wait until we get home - to Heaven and sing His praises forever.....Holy, Holy, Holy - worthy is the Lamb!"

now the little guy in this picture is his mama's pride and joy and when he, alfie her bunny heard about his mama's birthday, he immediately got a gang of his ottawa friends together to go to her birthday party where ever that was, eh?
he even wore his fancy mexican hat!
this bunny was ready to party..

now it was pilgrim david that blew the whistle this time.
i am late, as you can see but i guess better late than never, wishing this dear special girl a happy

birthday!

this, written by david sums up what we all think about julie and how we pray for her,

Missionary To Mexico...Our Own Julie
Dear Pilgrim Pals:

One of our own left early this morning to serve the Lord in Mexico on a short-term basis. Our Little Missionary, Julie, will be helping out at an orphanage and sharing the love of Jesus with everyone she meets.
Let's commit to pray for Julie every day! Let's make sure she is covered by God's protection so that Satan, that thief and liar, won't be able to touch God's anointed.
Thank you for standing with Julie! Pray that this trip will strengthen her faith and that God will use her in a powerful way to touch the lives of others.
THANKS SO MUCH!
The Pilgrim, David

happy, happy birthday little big missionary julie.....love terry

The Missionary's Milestone

Good morning Pals. If I'm not mistaken we need to celebrate a very special birthday today. Our Little Missionary, Julie, from Ottawa, Ontario is celebrating her birthday today. We always love to hear from her so today let's let her know that we love and appreciate all she is and does.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Julie. Perhaps Terry is out picking strawberries for your cake as I pen these words.

Call To Prayer

First of all...thanks for your patience with the Pilgrim! I have been under a huge amount of stress for the past couple of weeks with the moving of my office. Check out my post on Pilgrim Scribblings. Please pray for me now as I have stuff in three different places and no place to really call "home" as far as an office is concerned. We don't have room in our home for an office so I'm going to going "from pillar to post" as they say. Anyhow, please pray for me during this difficult time. We also need a financial miracle but that's nothing new. God is faithful and He will provide!

Second...it thrills me to see Pilgrim Pals continuing to be a strong and effective force for the Lord. Thanks to all who faithfully pray and for those who ask others to pray for their needs. God birthed this ministry and it has continued in spite of my busyness and failure to regularly post to it. You have been so faithful in carrying on. THANK YOU!

Now we need to call everyone to prayer for Amrita's mother Hazel. She needs a healing touch from the Lord. Amrita is going through a lot of stress and anxiety right now as she awaits a date for her mother's surgery. Let's lift up her weary arms and uphold her during this time. That's what the Lord has called us to do!

"Father, we commend Amrita, her mother, her adopted sister and her entire family to You right now. Minister to them according to their needs and according to your bountiful supply. You are gracious and merciful and we entrust these dear friends to You. Do a special work in their hearts for Your eternal glory, we pray. We offer this prayer with thanksgiving in Jesus' strong and mighty name. AMEN!"

Tonight I am heavily burdened.
My mother 's unhappiness causes guilt and distress in me.
I will take her to see a surgeon tomorrow and set a date
for her laproscopy for gall stones.
My adopted sister Sonia is coming on Saturday (May 9th)
Her presence will be a great comfort and help.
Please pray for my Mother Hazel
The laproscopy
Logistics
Caregiving duties
Financial needs to be met
(we don 't have health insurance)
Someone has to be in the hospital 24 hours.
Protection from the heat
Courage and strength for
Mama, she is quite low.
Anxiety sets off her acidity problem.
That in turn depresses me and makes me guilty.
Its hard to express it.
Although right now I feel I have
swallowed a sackful of hay and its stuck in my throat.
I know that
God is good
He has not left us
We are in the center of His plan.
I will rejoice in Him
and His joy will be my strength
no matter what my brain tells me.
I am not alone in this.
There are millions who are in the
similar situation, or worse.
Thank you for your prayers.
I feel so much better after sharing this.
I can breathe better.

God Will Take Care Of You

God Will Take Care of You

1. Be not dismayed whate'er betide,
God will take care of you;
beneath his wings of love abide,
God will take care of you.

Refrain:
God will take care of you,
through every day, o'er all the way;
he will take care of you,
God will take care of you.

2. Through days of toil when heart doth fail,
God will take care of you;
when dangers fierce your path assail,
God will take care of you.
(Refrain)

3. All you may need he will provide,
God will take care of you;
nothing you ask will be denied,
God will take care of you.
(Refrain)

4. No matter what may be the test,
God will take care of you;
lean, weary one, upon his breast,
God will take care of you.
