The hopes and fears of all the years are met in Thee tonight

Holy Infant so tender and mild

Twas a humble birthplace, but oh how much, God gave to us that day, From the manger bed, what a path was led, what a perfect, holy way

Then pauled the bells more loud and deep

God is not dead, nor doth He sleep

The wrong shall fail, the right prevail

With peace on earth, good will to men

Truly He taught us to love one another,
His law is love and His gospel is place

Chains shall He break, for the slave is our brother

And in His name all oppression shall cease!

The King of kings lay thus in lowly manger,

In all our trials, born to be our friend,

He knows our need - to our weakness no stranger!
