God Bless America

"God is still on the Throne"

I am seeing those words on many blogs and in e-mails
being sent as forwards across the internet. The election is
over and the people of our nation made their decision.

My hope is that as a believer in Christ, you will join me as
we continue to faithfully stand in the gap in prayer for the United
States.....for it is by His Word we live, it is His face we seek,
and it is His will we yield to...
believing and trusting that yes, indeed...

"God is still on the Throne"

if my people, which are called by my name,
shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face,
and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear
from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will
heal their land. 2 Chron 7:14

Thank you, my dear friends across the globe, for your heartfelt prayers for the United States of America.

Yes Donna, this is our prayer,
President-elect Obama should be on our prayer list just as President Bush and our own Canadian Prime Minister Harper are!
This is the will of our Father.

1 Timothy 2
1. I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

2.For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

3. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

4.Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Psalm 75:7
But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

Where would we go if we had not the word of God to instruct us Donna?
And how hard would THAT be where Christians are in a dictator country and God still requests of them to pray for their leader?

Isaiah 55:8
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

GOD BLESS AMERICA....Love Terry

Hi Donna,

Thanks for a very good post ! Yes we still need to be in prayer for our country and lift it up to continue as " One Nation Under God " not as Barack Obama said in his victory speech > We will prosper and go forward as one Nation and as one People < It is our God that will help us to prosper, not man in their selfish ways ?

Blessings.
Ron.

I always pray for the U.S. president. Whether the rest of the world likes it or not, we are heavily influenced by each American president - either negatively or positively. Barack has a huge responsibility - not only to his own country but to the world. I pray he humbles himself before our Lord - without God as his main advisor he will ultimately let us all down. I pray that President-elect Obama will be convicted deeply in his heart to do all in his power to protect unborn babies - because if a leader is unwilling to acknowledge and protect (to the best of his ability), life from conception to natural death, everything else in between is up for compromise. I pray God will grace Barack with the courage he needs in the face of a culture of death - a culture that increasingly values porn, drugs and so many destructive behaviours - destructive to the very soul created by our Loving Heavenly Father. And, I pray for protection over Barack from any "nut cases" that might try and assasinate him. Barack has good qualities but he needs God - likely more than he realizes! Having said all that, I rejoice with many people, that so many Americans saw past skin colour and voted for who they truly believe is the best man for the job!

Hi Pals!

Yes, all we can do now is pray...it really touches my heart to read how the Pals all are coming together in prayer for my native country and her leader...Deep down, I selfishly am glad that I live in Canada right now, but I know that all the same, what happens in the US always affects what happens here in Canada, too--and all my extended family is down there south-of-the-border, too, so I am always concerned for their futures.

Continuing in prayer for our leaders and neighboring countries,
LPP

PS
Let's not forget to uphold Israel in prayer at this time, because it does not look like Obama is very supportive of their best interest...
