My Day

Today it rained - it rained hard at times this morning...seemed appropriate for a funeral. It was a beautiful funeral - a celebration of a life well lived. A life that honoured the Lord and trusted in Him as "the Way, the Truth and the Life...". I said "farewell...for now" to my friend Maureen today. I sat in the church with my two friends, with whom I sat many a Wednesday evening as we prayed for and with Maureen. We watched as she deterioated physically, BUT got stronger spiritually! Maureen was sad about leaving her two daughters and 5 grandchildren; however she took great comfort knowing they also trust in the Lord.
I'm lonesome for Maureen and ultimately for my true Home with Jesus. Knowing where Maureen is makes me long for the time I'll be with Jesus - away from the cares and concerns of this world....away from the pain of disappointment and confusion. I long for you O God, in a dry and arid land!
I know the power of prayer from the Pals, so I'm here to ask you to lift me in your prayers...again - it just seems the pressure on my spirit is so much and never lets up for long....my mom is still very ill in the hospital; I've lost a good friend and I feel almost paralyzed with sadness and the anxiousness about work........still I say - I trust in the Lord with all my heart.

Dear Julie LBM,
I for certain will continue to lift you up in front of the Lord's throne.
Loosing a close friend is as bad as loosing family,-friends are the family we choose-.
Mourning takes time, but with your mom ill in hospital, you hardly have much time.
Allow yourself to have some anyhow; walking, talking and reflecting usually is a good way to cope with sorrow.
I am so thankful that you choose to share your sorrow with the Pilgrims.
That I might walk a mile with you in my spirit...
