Cellulitis Is Back

Plans change. Things happen. Illness comes uninvited.

My plan was to leave this morning for the Hockey Ministries International Fall Conference in Stowe, Vermont. I was going
to meet several others on the HMI Ontario staff in Port Hope and ride with them. I'd been looking forward to this for months. But, as I said, plans change.

Yesterday I discovered that the dreaded plague, cellulitis, had returned for the 6th time in 3 years. My left ear is badly infected and it's really swollen. Each time cellulitis hits it levels me for several days. Extreme fatigue always accompanies cellulitis.

Carol took me to Scarborough Grace Hospital in Toronto where the Infectious Disease Specialist that worked with me practices. We were given two different medications and arrived home (75 mile drive each way) at 1:50 this morning.

The cellulitis along with the heart problems I've been battling prevented me from going to the conference. Talk about disappointment! So, I won't be sleeping in this bed (pictured) at the Stowehof Inn.

Thanks for your prayers, dear fr
iends.

Sorry to hear about your health problems David. It's always a disappointment when things don't go as we planned...always makes me wonder what the Lord is up too.

I can only imagine the disappointment in not being able to travel to that conference as planned, but especially since this cellulitis has hit you again. {{Hugs}} The ear infection sounds painful, too. Oh David, sometimes when it rains, it pours, but greater still is His grace. Praying fervently for your body to heal, and that you will sense His closeness in this days ahead.

love in Christ,
V.

Dear Pilgrim David,
I am so sorry for you.
You have such big plans all the time. No doubt you want to serve the Lord of all your heart.
God will never leave nor forsake you. Stay rested in that.
"Be quiet for the Lord and wait for him."
I guess you need some time to recover.
Will pray for you, your Mom, the boys at their new school and also your wife Carol. All these trials must be pretty hard on her too.

Dear David...Plans sure do have a habit of changing sometimes!
Look at Little Missionary, Julie with all of those work changes and even Donna who had her heart set on going see the Gaithers and visiting Betty on her way home?
Look at Betty and I losing our jobs last year. Who could have known that in Bett's and my case that it was all God's planning?
Oh it is always so easy to look at hind sight in these trials but for you I know that you must be wondering what on earth is going on David! And that is why we will be praying for you and the family....Love Terry

Who would of known David, that last year at this time we would have in our treasure chest a Little Pilgrim Pal,a Little Montreal Girl, a Ruth Leah and a little red-headed Robin!
Who COULD have seen what a blessing that the blog you created would have been SUCH a blessing, so please do not despair brother!

Oh no, David!! How disappointing...in both areas, the cellulitus and the conference! May the Lord touch your ear and give you a speedy recovery. I know that isn't always the case with that nasty infection but I'm still praying for God to work mightily!
