Fire update

Hi everyone-

Just wanted to give a quick update on the fire. In total 8 are without homes, but one family is staying with relatives and the other is in a hotel. Please continue to pray for both families as they continue to get over what happened. (In case any Pals missed my previous post, my street had a horrible fire and it almost took my home down. I gave more details in my previous post last Saturday).
Terry posted a fire picture for me, but I have photos from the real fire now. In total there were SEVENTEEN fire trucks and 42 fire fighters, so it was no ordinary blaze.
I live in an older neighbourhood and the front of our homes are made of brick, so most of the fire went to the back of the homes. A neighbour took a lot of these pictures, but the fire department blocked off the back entrance to our homes so the pictures are only from the front view. Regardless, you can still see the damage:

This is what I saw when I came stumbling out of the house...
The view from the opposite end of the street...
This was when it started to spread- the fire chief's SUV is parked in my laneway...
The view from the back the next morning...

Once again, this was devastating for everyone involved, especially those who lost homes. In total 3 homes were damaged, and it still scares me how close it came to my own. PRAYERS SENT TO THE FAMILIES ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Like Susan, words escape me. I am always horrified when I look at fire damage because of the total destructiveness of it. Praise be to our Lord for saving the lives of the people. Material things can be replaced but lives...that's a different story.

Lauren-Mary,

Rest assured, I'm praying for the families...I pray that family and friends are providing them with any needs they might have...and may they rest in the Lord's love and peace.
