Ephesians

Here are my thoughts on the picture David asked us to comment on.

This is the verse the Lord led me to:

"For you were once in darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light......Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness but rather expose them." Ephesians 5 vs 8 - 11

We walk in a very dark world. Sometimes that darkness can almost overcome the light of Christ within in us. As we see in the picture, the darkness is more present then the light - the light is fading but the light is still there. This was my own spiritual experience from early 2006 into early 2007. The Light of Christ in me was fading very quickly. I was frightened at times by the realization that this Light could possibily burn out altogether! I desperately sought out counsel. Unfortunately I come across many Christians who preferred to analyse why the light of Christ in me was fading rather than expose the light of Christ within them inorder to show me the way back on track!

The light of Christ is always within in us. But there are times in our Christian walk when it will fade. The light of Christ in us will be challenged by darkness that surrounds us. What do we do in times like this? Run to Christ, who hopefully is present to us in our friends who know Him. Those who are seeing clearly - those who have the light shining brightly can help illuminate the way for us who are experiencing a pit of darkness. If we are the ones with a light that is strong and a Christian comes to us with a "weak" light, we need to becareful not to condemn them with judgemental tones in our voices ("what did you do to make your light weak?"). Rather, we need to pray with them and comfort them - show them gently the way back to the brightest light, which ultimately, darkness cannot overcome - Christ Jesus - the true Light - the Light than never burns out.

God bless Canada - may this nation humble itself and turn to God.

This is so good Passing-thru.!
I will never forget the night of the day that I got saved.
I was laying in my bed with my heart finally at peace.
It was dark out but I still had my bedroom light on.
It was a clear summer night and I could see and hear the moths as they hit the outside of the window trying to get at the light inside!
It suddenly dawned on my mind.
"You crazy moths!
Don't you realize you just can't get to the light?
Sure you are beating yourselves up... TRYING to get to the light but can't you see that there is a glass wall that is blocking your way to the light?
Now if someone should break that barrior between you and the light then you would surley get through!"
And then I thought, "Why that is just like me!
The Lord had to break that barrior of sin that was separting me from Him.
I certainly could not do it!"
What a revelation to my soul Passing-thru!

Ephesians 2:4.."For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us."

Terry, have you ever shared that illustration with your dad? It is an excellent image and it obviously works since you are now a member of God's precious family!

Dear Pilot-mom.
You know it IS a good image.
The only thing is though that I was so blind that I didn't see that until the firstr night that I was saved!
I will try and tell him..
Good idea..Love Terry

I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD
This light will attract you as nothing in this world can do, and you will lay aside the world and find another. This new world is bright with love which you have given it. And here will everything remind you of your Father and His Holy Son. Glory to God in the highest, and to you because He has so willed it. Ask and it shall be given you, because it has already been given. Ask for light and learn that you are light. If you want understanding and enlightenment you will learn it, because your decision to learn it is the decision to listen to the Teacher Who knows of light, and can therefore teach it to you.
