Here is Julie's response:
Psalm 119:105 - "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path."
"In our journey through life and our walk with God it is easy to wish we could see everything in advance...so we would know exactly where to walk. But God doesn't do that...He can see the way and we, through prayer, faith and study have a light for our path.
While it's hard sometimes, we have to remember that whether we walk the path or happen to get off it a bit, God is always there beside us and we don't need to be scared because He will guide us back onto the path.
I like this picture because you can see the light up ahead while still being in darkness, and if you look at the bottom, you can see enough light for your steps. It is like that with us...we can look forward to being in the light (heaven) but until we get there, we have enough light to take a few steps...and when we take those steps (in faith) God will give us light for a few more...and so on."
Here's what I was thinking when I took the photo:
God gives us just enough light along the path so we can take the next few steps. Beyond that, the path is dark and we can't see the Way. As we take those first few steps, he illuminates the pathway a little more.
Just so we don't get discouraged and give up, He gives us glimpes of light on the horizon. I thought of this as a Horizon of Hope. Someone once said, "As long as there's God, there's hope." For the believing child of God there is always hope.
So, dear friend, if the way seems dark and you can't see the path ahead, take that first step in the light, and He will show you the way. Always keep your eyes on the horizon because there's hope, victory, peace and heaven...just ahead.
Trust Him today! As Spurgeon said, "When you can't trace His hand, trust His heart."
"The path of the righteous is level; O upright One, you make the way of the righteous smooth." - Isaiah 26: 7 "In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." - Proverbs 3:6
