MY DAD
I posted below that God has placed "someone" in our lives that has influenced us , inspired us.
Sitting here in my computer room, I see on the shelves , an American Flag folded and pictures of my dad who "graduated" to glory two years ago , his name is George Brown ( I was his step-son)
Dad and Mom got saved 3 months after I did in 1967 -
Dad inspired me , influenced me -- he was consistent in his faith - he wore caps with JESUS name on it -- a jacket with JESUS name on the back of it -- he passed out tracts everywhere he went ---
Dad read his bible from cover to cover --
Dad prayed for me and all his children every morning of every day --
Dad would stand in a sunday nite service and testify "All that thrills my soul is Jesus"
Dad and Mom never had their own home, never went on a cruise or ever own much, but God gave them Grace and Love for all people , they were great "soul winners"
Dad inspired me --- I thank God for giving me a dad like I had --
I miss him -

Oh Passing-thru
Usually talkative me can say so much but this about your dear Dad is so heart moving all I can say is thanks for sharing your Dad with us....Love Terry
Your Dad and Mom are the same "age" as me.
Mom Golden, Betty and I all got saved in 1967.
Who can cheer the heart like Jesus,
By His presence all divine?
True and tender, pure and precious,
O how blest to call Him mine!
All that thrills my soul is Jesus,
He is more than life to me;
And the fairest of ten thousand
In my blessed Lord I see.
Love of Christ so freely given,
Grace of God beyond degree,
Mercy higher than the heaven,
Deeper than the deepest sea!
What a wonderful redemption!
Never can a mortal know
How my sin, tho red like crimson,
Can be whiter than the snow.
Every need His hand supplying,
Every good in Him I see;
On His strength divine relying,
He is all in all to me.
By the crystal flowing river
With the ransomed I will sing,
And forever and forever
Praise and glorify the King
All that thrills my soul is Jesus,
He is more than life to me;
And the fairest of ten thousand
In my blessed Lord I see.
Thankyou Vicki and Lil M and Terry -- and Terry thanks for the words to the song --
It was Dad's favorite and tears would roll down his cheeks as his hand would "raise" heavenward as it would be sung --
Dad was "old school" little emotion, hard working , little pay with 6 children , and a wife, living in a mini-size apartment for 17 years of my young life.
God saved me in upstate NY - I told my folks , they got "saved" 3 months later and Dad became a "gentle" example of the Grace of God -- Mom and Dad had owned nothing but had "everything" when they found Jesus --------
Wow, what a dad! I can tell that you are his son.
LMG ----- your comment brought "tears" to these eyes --
Thankyou ----
Dear Passing-thru.
What a blessing to have a Dad like that and I agree with Little Montreal Girl. That Dad was the makings of you!
Won't it be so good when you meet him in heaven again and tell him what a difference he made in your life and because of that we, your friends have been all blessed too...love Terry
Thank you so much for giving us a peek at him!..
