KNOTHOLE

To continue in the lighthearted vein that Donna has started -

I shared this last year with the pals but will repeat it -
My wife is very shy and reserved, one Thursday nite , I took her out with me and visited a man I helped get "back" on track with the Lord. Howard was married to a Roman Catholic woman named Joanne, she was very opposed to Howard attending an evangelical church. I set up a time with him to visit his home and I took my wife to help "soften" the atmosphere with her .
Thursday nite came around and we walked up on his porch and rang the bell -- thru the door's little window I could see "her" in the kitchen , sitting and "glaring".
Howard answered the door and invited us in ( one could "see" , he was nervous ) I put my hand on my wife's back and tried to move her in, my wife just stood there - I nudged her again and she just was speechless ( my wife was nervous too ) I said , cmon hon, let's go in -- she looked at me with exasperation and finally stepped out of her one high heel and walked into Howard's house - with one shoe on and the other STUCK INTO A KNOTHOLE on the porch floor ---
We all laughed and we had a decent visit -- we just showed that we loved them and witnessed to his wife -- she gave me a hard time, very anti-Bob , lol --
Years later, Howard ended up being a pastor in West Virginia and his wife got saved and sent us a letter saying how sorry she was for being so mean to us --- she said for years she felt bad about being so rotten towards me -- lol ------

ISN'T GOD GOOD

I remember you shareing the "knothole story" with us before. I think of Billy Sunday's favorite Bible verse. He would say to his wife when things didn't seem right, "Honey, Romans 8:28 is still in the Book."

Lol -- good stuff Lmg --
yes on using "old" material --

Many years have passed and I wonder how "these" people are doing today -- that man Howard used to work in "Western Union" and I would drop in every day just to witness as he was cold and in a backslidden way -- every day I would just say hi -- then GOD --
did What HE does best ---
SPOKE TO HOWARD'S HEART --

thanks for commenting LMG - praying your family sells that van -

Oh Little Montreal Girl. I am very bad at chapter and verse, so as soon as I commented to Passing-thru I scurried off to look up Romans 6:28..
Ha...Here it is!
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

Sure a good way to start off this old girl's Monday!
Thank you!....Love Mrs.. Shirkie
