175 Miles Later

Well, Pilgrim Pals, I drove to Camp Medeba after I posted my prayer request earlier this evening. I thought Matthew might want to see a familiar face. When I arrived he had already returned from the hospital. The attending doctor didn't think it was a bee or wasp sting but maybe a deer fly bite. Some might say, "much ado about nothing" but I'm glad I went.

When I arrived Matthew shouted "Daddy" and threw his arms around me. It was worth the 175 mile round trip just to hear that! Matthew was pretty subdued after having the epi-pen shot and the benedryl. Hopefully he'll have a good sleep tonight. He certainly had no thoughts of leaving camp and coming home. That was good! He's a stubborn camper for which we're grateful to the Lord.

Thanks for the outpouring of prayer support! That's what PILGRIM PALS are all about.

Time for bed now. The clock just struck 12! GOOD NIGHT and THANKS AGAIN!

P. S. Sure was good to hear from you...Lauren-Mary! We thought you had flown the coop! Sorry about the Mike Fisher jerseys. He's just too good a player for his jerseys to hang in Sensations all summer long.

Note: Matthew on the left, Nathan on the right. Matthew with a button undone, Nathan with an ice cream stain. This was graduation night! Don't tell Carol that I posted this photo!

Praise the Lord!

Camp this week must be phenomenal for all the attacks going on! Thankfully we know the One who is stronger! The One Who has already won the battle!

Dear David ...Just like the song that the Mullins and the Gaither Friends used to sing, "Going Home" where the father slips his arms around his tired son and takes him home.
Except in this case Matthew stayed.
That 175 miles was well worth it David just to hear that glad shout, "Daddy"!
I hope that the rest of Matthew and Nathan's days at camp are fun!

You are blessed...From Terry

Yes my friend , The "Father's Heart" before we call , HE has already heard ! What a great picture of God's love , this driving up there for Matthew -

Even now, I am thanking OUR GREAT AND GRACIOUS FATHER FOR HIS LOVE for sending HIS SON THRU ETERNITY TO TAKE MY SINS AND YOUR SINS and rescue US from the curse of sin and from the "camp" of bondage -
GOOD STUFF DAVID

Mr. Fisher...
I could just hear Matthew when I read that word, "Daddy!"...how many times my siblings and I have yelled that out in joy when we see our Daddy come home...and he has't driven 175 miles, either! I'm sure that left a big impression in his heart, you driving so far just to make sure he was okay. You are such a good, kind father!

God bless you,
Lil Pilgrim Pal

Last night I woke-up and found myself praying for Matthew. I'm glad he's okay. What a joy it must have been for him to know that his Daddy loves hm so much to drive 175 miles to make sure he's okay. Reminds me of a country song I heard this morning
"Son let me tell you a secret about a father's love, one that my Daddy said is just between us. Daddy's don't just love their children every now and then. It's a love without end amen."
