Basking In The Father's Love

BASKING IN THE FATHER'S LOVE...
Basking in the Father's love,
Beams of mercy from above;
Daily His great promise prove,
I am His!
He has bought me, saving grace,
Given me in heav'n a place;
One day soon I'll see His face,
I am His!
When my ship the storm assails,
Then His promise never fails;
He is there 'midst fiercest gales,
I am His!
Soon this journey will be o'er,
And I'm safe on heaven's shore;
There abide for evermore,
He is mine!

written by David Warren Fisher

Note from David, the Pilgrim: This poem/song came to me while sitting on a bench in the cathedral close in Exeter, England in early March of this year. I was waiting to meet Mr. Roger Steer an excellent writer who has penned biographies of the two men who have impacted me most, J. Hudson Taylor and George Muller. As I sat in the warmth of the morning sun I was reflecting on God's goodness, amazed that He had allowed me to realize my dream of visiting England. Roger was such a humble, godly man who took time out of his busy day to visit with an unknown pilgrim from a far-off land...me. If you view the You Tube link you will note that my voice cracks. I was in tears as I sat at my piano on my return to Canada. God is so good!
Thanks, Terry, for posting this.

Neat ! So U really can play the piano ! I didn't know U met Roger Steer - Good words on that post my brother --- keeping U and Carol in prayer -- I have an interview at 1:30. I truly want what the Lord wants, some of these pilgrims have gone thru so much, I don't know if I could be as strong as the Pilots or Heather or Arlene - or even as U and Carol -- good words again David -----

Oh, Mr. Fisher,
Did you happen to listen to Focus on the Family's broadcast, yesterday and/or today? I missed both, but downloaded them to listen to at a convenient time. It's on autism, a topic I find quite interesting, and one near to your heart, too. You know who I thought of (after you and Matthew, of course) when I saw what the broadcast was on? Lindsey in CO, the lady who comments on Scribblings. Her comments are so good,albeit I've only seen two. I wish she would join Pals!

God bless your day,
Lil Pilgrim Pal

Thank you for praying for me. You know the devil keeps reminding me of something the doctor said, something about no matter what I try, as long as I have a certain environmental problem we can't fix right now, I will never get better. AGGGH! I don't want to think of that at all! I want to step out in complete faith!

Dear Passing-thru...Oh I am so glad that you have an interview this afternoon.
I will be home, so I will be praying for you!
That Julie, Sweet Inspirations will be having an interview some day this week too, so we have a whole lot of praying to be doing!!...from Pilgrim pal Terry

Praying for you too, Hebrews 11:1 Thanks for the heads up information on Princess Victoria.

Heb -- wow -- I remember U saying that before about environmental -- we do serve a SUPERNATURAL GOD

It may have been Ruth Graham , not sure but someone notable of "faith" said when close to homecoming " I would have trusted HIM more " -- looking back and seeing how FAITHFUL GOD was in BEING EVERYTHING HE SAID HE WOULD BE IN their life. There is no doubt that GOD wants us to trust HIM more -------- I need to do that so much more.

Hey everyone,

After writng about the FOTF broadcast I thought I'd go to their website (I get the downoads from oneplace.com, not family.org), and I clicked on a link to some photos taken at their place by Reuters. Go check it out, there's a student pictured named LINDSEY! I don't know if it's the same Scribblings reader, but it would be cool!

No, I won't be relaxing Passing-thru.
I will be praying for you guys and for Susan Walker girl and Mr. Butler and Arlene and Heather and my dad and Hebrews 11:1 and our little Montreal Girl's neighborhood mission field and Pilot-mom's Utah mission field?
And for our own little missionary, Julie?
Excuse me, I am not as good at this list as you are so even though I have missed so many the Lord will remind me..
And did you really think that I would forget about David and Carol and the little guy, Matthew?

Hoping to hear good news by supper time from you Passing-thru....from Terry

TERRY --- what a blessing U are , I think that pals has some great people in it ---

we do pray every day for dad golden - I know what that means to U to see him accept CHRIST as Lord and Saviour and for him to know the peace that comes with Christ ---
I think everyone in pals are real missionaries -- pilgrims journeying and calling out to those that don't know the WAY

Passing Thru, I am praying for your interview today. May He guide your speech, your demeanor, keep you from being nervous. May the interviewer find in you the things that would make you perfect for this job. May God be blessed and glorified today!

Oh, I got sidetracked when I saw PT had an interview!

David, you have such a gift in writing poetry! Truly! This is just beautiful and so biblically sound (well, I wouldn't expect it not to be LOL). Thank you for sharing it with us. Share more of these, okay?!

I was in the Fisher's gold mine looking for it for two days David.
How thankful I was when you phoned and I was able to ask you where it was!
I second the motion!
Just like Pilot-mom asks...Can you make us some more?...from Terry

in other words..."Encore"!!

Oh, Mrs. Shirkie, so you were fishing, too? So was I the other day, looking for that twin...now who was it that told me that, and I actually believed her? Well, I have a twin, too, an idetical one who is 7 years old. Acts just like I did at that age, talks like I did, and even looks a lot like I did.

Your poem is wonderful...and reflects the person and character of our God...our risen Savior...and the Holy Spirit within.

I can almost imagine it to the tune of one of Fanny Crosby's hymns.

Blessings in Christ!
