BLESSING TO THE CHURCH

WHAT BLESSINGS these are to "hear" of God's working in us like the True Story that David shared - these "testimonies" build up the church . We all have such stories for God works thru HIS people and many times thru the unsaved as well . Sometimes people will tell - well , silly - little stories that people will give credit to God as doing - BUT , WHEN we read of "STUFF" like what David shared , this builds the faith of the believer to Look to God . Neat thing is , that God always does things in a neat way -- God will place us in a certain position or a certain place at a certain time and then HE opens doors for us to be used if we are looking to Him to be a blessing to people. - If you think back when U were first "saved" , how fresh and wonderful and expecting U were. U will recall times when God used U or was working in ways that blessed U and made U more aware that God was at work in your life or the lives of those around U.

I hope others will share the unique times when HE stepped thru Time and Space to Do neat things thru HIS children. I have another story that was a blessing but will save it for later as I want us all to SAVOUR the FRESHNESS of David's story on that dear Indian woman.

WHAT A BLESSING that story was and is . ---------- passing-thru

Good Morning, Passing-thru! Yes, what a blessing these testionies are to the Body of Christ.

I have one I recalled the other day. I don't know why I didn't think of it before as it wasn't too long ago that it happened, but when I have more time I will type it up. It certainly has do with God's perfect timing, but it also is about how God watches over each and every one of us to keep us safe, even when there is no one around.

Yes , by all means share it Lil pilgrim pal ----
Its no different that the recorded book of Acts -- testifying to a Living God of His working in the redeemed life
I can just see it now, the devil is listening to this stuff and is getting an ulcer and a migrain and he has NO cold water down there for a drink --in fact he has no water at all so he can't swallow the pills down ---

One early afternoon my mom and I took our dog out for our usual weekday walk. As we passed by the home my grandparents had recently bought, there was a nice chair out for garbage. “Oh, let me go see if she has any more she’s getting rid of,” my mom said to me. “And while you do so, I’ll run around the corner, with the dog, to the house whose garage door I closed last night and let them know they left it open.” I replied. We parted ways. Now the lady who was moving out is a widow in her 70’s, and she is moving into her daughter’s home so she has family with her to care for her lest anything should happen to her. She is also a Christian who is very evangelistic. My mom went up and rang the bell as I ran around the corner. It took the lady a long time to come to the door, and when she did, my mom saw blood streaming down her face. As soon as she opened the door, my mom caught her and helped her to a chair. The lady said she was cleaning out the upper cupboards, standing on a stool, when she felt dizzy, and before she could get down, she fell…but there was a picture frame on the ground, and she fell into it, the glass cutting her face, hands, and legs. I arrived a few minutes later and saw my mom holding the lady’s hands above her head. Why, I thought, it looks as though she is doing that to stop bleeding, but how could that be? They must be praying or something. So I stood by the door. Meantime, my mom was praying I would come soon, and she looked up and saw me standing there. “Run home, quick and get ice, bandages, she’s cut all over and is bruised and has bump on her head.” I ran as fast as I could with my dog lagging, all the way down the hill, and up our hill to our home, and burst in the door. My dad was sitting on the couch doing science. “Mrs…. fell! And she is cut! And she has a bruise on her head!” I burst out, as I ran to the bathroom for first aid, and then to the freezer for ice cubes. I scurried about trying to remember everything. My dad and I drove to the home with all the stuff, and I ran in and set to work to help my mom. My mom told me while I was gone, the lady mentioned she was diabetic, and my mom’s heart sunk. She began praying, as she thought, “She will never stop bleeding!” I used a method I’ve used on myself before when I saw the way the blood was flowing from her hands, and it worked. Then we cleaned her up. We put the ice on her back, hip, and the knot on her head. We washed up the floor and the carpet from the blood that was all over. But we would have never known, if we had just walked on by instead of asking about that chair. It sounded like a trivial thing, but in reality it led to us helping this dear sister in Christ, whom God was watching over. The lady apparently recovered well at her daughter’s (she was moving that afternoon), but I will never forget that experience. I’ve stood by my parents and helped them take care of all my younger siblings worst medical moments, but there is nothing like caring for an elderly person…I’m sure Mrs. Shirkie and Donna can relate!

Years ago Lil pilgrim, I was taking a "philosophy of religion" class in a community college - I was in my twenties and an older woman (a nature type) was sharing how she could feel god in the tree she was sitting against and she was so euphoric, tears streaming down her cheeks and she said god was in everything -- my turn was next and I testified to the GOD of Abraham , Issac and Jacob, told how a Christian witnessed to me and I got "saved" by the Blood of Jesus Christ - the class got real quiet, out of the class of 40 or so, I was the only born-again testimony -- after class , the prof got me aside and said that my testimony did something to him -- good stuff ----

A few years ago well, I guess it must be almost 20 now, Bernie and I were involved with the CB and had met quite a few people through it.
I was able to make several connections with children of the CBers and used to fill our station wagon full of kids each week to take them out to Sunday School.
Well, one time there came a series of Gospel meetngs and lots of the adults from the CBers, when I invited them out to these special meetings, came out to hear the gospel.
I had a best friend in the CB group and her name was Linda. Because she WAS my best frend, for some reason, I had never invited her and one day she plainly asked me, "Terry, how come you have asked Nicky and all the others to go to church and you have never asked ME?"
I want to know why you and Bernie are different!

Then I told her why, "Linda, you are my best friend and through my whole life I have never really HAD a best friend and have always been rejected and I was so afraid that if I asked you, you would say "No".

That is when my eyes were finally opened and I saw the foolishness of the whole idea and my own selfishness.

"Well ask me now"
"Will you and Paul come Linda?"
"Yes, we will!"
Well she and Paul DID come and were both gloriously saved.
Ths is what happened..
One early morning, I heard a knock at the door and it was Linda.
'Terry" she told me, "Last night about 3 in the morning, I couldn't sleep and I got to reading the Bible plaque that the preachers gave to me[John 3:16] and I finally saw how that Jesus has died for ME and Terry I am saved!!"
Just then there came another knock at the door and it was Marie, another of my CB friends and I thought to myself. "Oh no!
This girl hates Linda and Linda hates HER!"
So I wondered what was going to happen.
I didn't have to wonder too long..
"Hi Marie" Linda said. Guess what?
Last night I got saved!"
Marie took one look at Linda's shining face and said, 'Well Bus Driver[Linda's CB name] "that is real cool!"
From that day forth Marie treated Linda with love and respect and when any of the other CB people gave her a hard time and made fun of her for being born again, Marie would tell them to "knock it off"!

The very year that Linda was saved, she came down with MS.
Even so, she wanted to be baptised and it was a happy day when both her and Paul were baptised one Sunday evening and Linda went on to join the fellowship of Christians.
Papere Dube used to have to pick her up for meetings in a van that he had equipped with special equipment to pick her and her wheelchair up.

Linda has been in a nursing home about 25 years now and even though her mind has been affected, she still remembers John 3:16 and who knows how many people will be in heaven because of that sweet voice speaking these precious words in the nursing home, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen!"
This is exactly how she says it.
Most days she doesn't even know her own name but she knows who the Lord is!!
She has never forgotten HIM!
