The Cross

The following truth was posted by our Pilgrim Pal Julie (Little Missionary). I am adding it to PILGRIM PALS without her permission. Is that alright, Julie? This is good stuff!

An instrument of inhumane torture used by the Romans over 2000 years ago to punish and kill criminals. The Holy Innocent One hung on a cross in order to set the real criminals free! We deserve punishment for our offences against a Holy God. But our God, who created us, loves us so much He can't bare separation from us.

Reparation had to be made for our sins. Jesus, the Son of God, lay down His life for us. By His Death and Resurrection we are brought into God's family for eternity. Jesus suffered humiliation and torture beyond belief so that we could be made clean and stand in the presence of our Heavenly Father.

His love is great and awesome and can only be accepted by faith. If you are reading this and you do not know the saving love of the Lord Jesus - call on His Name; trust in Him. He loves you.

"What restores our faith in God?
What reveals the Father's love?
What can lead the wayward home?
What can melt a heart of stone?
What can free the guilty ones?
What can save and overcome?.....
Mighty, awesome, wonderful is the Holy Cross.
Where the Lamb laid down His life to lift us from the fall."

I don't mind you "stealing" it at all! It's just a little something that came to me as I listened to that song by Chris Tomlin.

Thanks.

Thanks Julie! It was a good one!

Now I can get off my guilt trip for stealing.

Be encouraged today!

In His embrace,

Dear Little Missionary, Julie

This is such a good post.
I missed out by not visiting you for a couple of days.
I am so glad that Passing-thru "lifted it".

The Lord Jesus became so poor and sufferd so cruelly at the hands of us sinners and then and if THAT wasn't enough, God punished Him for our sins.
The punishment that we surely deserved!
"God, who created us loves us so much. He can't bear separation from us."[good wording Julie].
It is amazing to me that he bore that separation from God when he was paying my huge debt!
He was forsaken of God and yet we are the ones that deserved to be forsaken!

This is a really good post Julie, Love Terry
