Plunge BOLDLY!

One of our local business establishments always posts a humorous or thought-provoking slogan on its sign by the roadside. It always begins with, "Sydney says..."

This week's edition caught my eye and I wrote it down so I wouldn't forget it.

Sydney say, "Plunge boldly into the thick of life!"

Good advice!

I suppose the opposite would be, "Gingerly stick your big toe into the edge of existence."

As believers in Jesus Christ, redeemed by His blood, we should boldly step out to face the daily challenges of abundant living. Instead, so many of us hesitate to take risks. We settle for the comfortable. The easy! The mundane!

Let's trust God and forge ahead, confident that He will lead us aright! Go for the gusto!

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God." - Hebrews 12:1,2 (ESV)

Reminds me of that great Cathedral song..'"Step Into The Water"!

"Step into the water, wade out a little bit deeper
Wet your feet in the water of His love
Step into the water, wade out a little bit deeper
Come join angels singing praises to the Lamb of God."

Well it's time that we the people
stand up for what is right
It's time we squared our shoulders back and raised our sword to fight
For the Bible is my weapon the
Spirit is my shield
The church needs more of it's members to be soldiers in the field

There's victory for the Christian
who walks the narrow way
There's been a prize appointed for the soul who does not stray
Oh I want to live for Jesus be all that I can be
So that I can rest with Him forever in eternity.

THANKS! I love that song by the Cathedrals tool.

Have you ever seen their REUNION cassette on CD? I'd love to get it but I only have it on tape.

Have a good and godly weekend!

In His love,

David

Yes we do have the VCR of the reunion David. Is that what you mean?
Bernie has quite often just transferred some of my video tapes to dvd so we can watch them on our dvd player.

Did you see the Cathedrals when they had their farewell concert in Canada?
To me it was a sad time.
I remember how concerned we would be because George was so ill at the time and we didn't think he would be coming.
Well he came but then it was Glen that didn't come because HE was ill and within a short time later, he was singing in heaven..

Let me know what you mean by the tape David.
We have so many of the Bill Gaither and Friends Video tapes and dvds.
I guess that VCR tapes are mostly obsolete nowadays.
The first VCR tape I bought was "Greater Vison", when Mark and Chris were still singing...
Hmm...THAT just seems like yesterday!
I don' know where the years have gone!
And I think that the first group that offered a DVD tape was Gearld Wolfe, even before the Gaithers did!
That boy sure keeps up with the times and yet he sings all the old hymns.
One time his record maker told him that the old hymns recording that he wanted to make would never sell, as if that is all Gerald cared about!
He wanted to it out regardless so what he did was left that record company and put it out on his own name. It DID sell and it wasn't too long before the Christian listeners wanted another one!
I am Southern Gospel 100 per cent David, but nothing can compare to the old time hymns...Nothing!
Ha!! All the more better though if Gerald and the boys are singing it, and letting the audience join in with the singing!

Well I hope that you have a good weekend David, you and your whole family,,...From Piilgrim pal Terry

Good Post ----- yes boldly - with confidence - I am sure we bring sadness to the Holy Spirit by our weak moanings when as David said , We have at our use or I should say HE has THE ABUNDANCE of ALL that we need for life and abundant life at that so let us GO BOLDLY
