An Empty Cross

Pilot-mom I read your marvellous story about Phyllis and hardly took a breath as I read it right to the end.I looked up Psalm 139 and I was so amazed Pilot-mom!That is Felisol's favorite psalm. How amazing is THAT?
I went to Bible Gateway and now I am going to copy and paste the special verses that you mentioned.
They are certainly worth reading!
Psalm 139 .11If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.12Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.13For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.14I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.15My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.16Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.17How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
I looked up the meaning of your dear Christian sister's name and guess what? Phyllis means "green bow" or "green leaves"!
How fitting, eh?
The story of your wearing that cross really interested me.I had a friend once who wanted to buy a cross for his friend in Texas who he was going to visit. He told me that he wanted one with the figure of Jesus on it. I told him, "Oh no Dave! You should get him a cross that is empty because that is how it is. Jesus died for us and then he rose again. He will never be on the cross again!"
He took my word for it and bought his Texan friend an "empty" cross!Dave was saved a year before he passed away and he is now with the Lord who died, rose again and went up into heaven, never to face the cross again!
God's blessings on your Bible classes Pilot-mom!

An empty cross, indeed, Terry!! Not only will He never be on the cross again, but because of His being there the one time, we never have to be on that cross physically! :)
