God Cares Even For the Birds!

"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" (Matthew 6:26)

A friend and I sat in a coffee shop enjoying a little lunch after church today when we noticed a lady looking down at the street outside. Curious, we looked out, down on the sidewalk, looking

very vulnerable was a little baby bird. My heart completely melted and I was concerned about the little bird. The mama bird was obviously concerned too; she fluttered around helplessly. The lady who spotted the bird moved on after a few moments. A man walked along and nearly stepped on the little bird! I gasped, then I thought of the scripture quoted above and extended my hand towards the window; "Lord, please take care of this little bird!"

Within minutes another lady came along, bent down and looked at the bird. She came into the coffee shop and I spoke to her about the bird. She told me she has a friend who is something of an animal rescuer and works close by, so she was going to scoop up the tiny bird and bring him to her friend.
The Lord sent help! A little later on the two friends came back and asked the workers in the coffee shop for a ladder. My friend and I watched as the bird was gently placed back into his nest. Seems silly to pray for a bird - right? Not really. God cares about his creation and he hears all of our prayers. Sometimes he answers quickly and directly - as in this case. Others times there is a delay in the answer, or he answers in a different way - a better way. Jesus tells us not to waste time worrying about worldly needs and wants. God will take care of us. We are to, "seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

It's certainly not silly to pray for birds...I've done it time andagain as I've rescued birds...among other animals! :)

Hi, everyone! The time with my friends (who are like cousins to us) was well spent...one of my cousins couldn't make it, and also my other cousin's (who came)boyfriend.

I am just is a state of shock as I rolled in e-mail and read an e-mail from a family friend we haven't heard from in awhile: her husband's 23 y.o. son died of a ruptured spleen caused by mono...23...only 2 years older than I...and so suddenly. Life is so short. I guess that's why the Bible says, "behold now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation." Well, please pray for her and her huband, and his ex-wife, and 2 daughters. I don't know if they are saved. My mom has spoken to her a lot about the Lord.

Enjoy every minute you have on earth!

God bless you,
Lil Pilgrim Pal

Dear Hebrews 11:1
Oh boy..that is so sad about such a young person like that dying so suddenly!

Everytime we sing this song in Gospel Meeting it makes me so sad...

Life at best is very brief,
Like the falling of a leaf,
Like the binding of a sheaf:
Be in time!
Fleeting days are telling fast,
That the die will soon be cast,
And the fatal line be passed,
Be in time!

Fairest flowere soon decay,
Youth and beauty pass away,
O you have not long to stay,
Be in time!
While God's Spirit bids you come,
Sinner do not longer roam,
Lest you seal your hopeless doom:
Be in Time!

Sinner, heed the warning voice,
Make the Lord you final choice;
Then all heaven shall rejoice:
Be in time!
Come from darkness into light;
Come, let Jesus make you right;
Come, and start for heaven tonight:
Be in time!

Be in time!
Be in time!
While the voice of Jesus calls you,
Be in time!
If in sin you longer wait,
You may find no open gate,
And your cry be just too late:
Be in time!
