The Pilgrim's Return

Dear Pilgrim Pals:

I'm home and I just arrived at work. It's almost 1:00 a.m. so I'll post this and get to bed. My shift is usually 11 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. but they knew I was getting in late tonight!

The trip home was pretty uneventful. We left Erie, PA around 1:30 p.m. and stopped in Buffalo for dinner. We made a pit stop in Toronto to drop off our granddaughter Victoria at our daughter Tammy's place and then arrived safely in rural Cavan around midnight!

Thanks for your prayers while we were away. Thanks to Terry for filling in so admirably!

Keep those prayer requests coming, dear friends!

We need a miracle at our house in the next week or so. Please pray BIG and let's trust God to do mighty things! THANKS!

David

Thanks Terry and Pilot Mom! I'm praying, as I type, for a plumber to come by, Pilot Mom.

God isn't unaware of your predicament.

Much love in Christ,

The Pilgrim

David, the Lord is going to reward you for ever setting up this blog so that His dear people can come here with prayer requests big or small...they are all important to the Lord!!...from Pilgrim pal, Terry

Hi David, I just logged in and I prayed for a word from the Lord and was directed to this Scripture - hope it blesses you:
"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! .....The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Phil 4:4-7

Thank you Father for all you are doing on the Pilgrim Pals site - bless David and his family!

Welcome Back, Mr. Fisher! And, thank you for setting up this great bog to share prayer requests on. How's Mike Sweeney doing?

Lil Missionary...that's a great scripture, isn't that?! The Lord has led me to write that so many times in letters of encouragement.

Pilot Mom...I'm praying for you for a plumber. God is faithful.

Have a good day everyone!

Oh, one more thing...

I'm making some scripture cards for two soccer teams for a match this weekend. My littlest brother will be handing them out to the players. I need to put one verse on the front that sounds like action/sport (I've already used Phil. 4:13) and at least one on t back that is a message of salvation. I want to make several different ones, too.

Can anyone suggest a verse or two? I can think of them on my own, but I thought I'd ask you all for some input.

Please pray that God would prepare their hearts to receive this, and would use these cards to bring them to know Christ. Thank you.

That's great Hebrews 11:1 - what a wonderful witness you are! I pray for those soccer players to look to Christ! Are you going to the match in Ottawa or elsewhere? My "friend" Todd is working security at the match in Ottawa tonight, so make sure you hand them out to all the security guys as well if you are in Ottawa :)
PS he is tall, dark and yes, handsome (sigh).

"Pray one for another,...The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."James 5:16b "For this cause since the day we heard it do not cease to pray for you."Col 1:9a
I will keep you in prayer Mr.Fisher.

Hi Little Missionary! No, the match is not in Ottawa...we don't even have security at these matches if my memory serves me correctly. Last night's game as great in that the stands were right next to the field --I mean we did't have anything seperating us from the field except a strip of turf! I got real close and shot some good photos (I hope!), and my sister played reporter with her digital voice recorder we bought her for her birthday (off e-bay for a steal of a deal!), and went around talking to the players and families.
Oh, and she whispered in my ear a comment about the captain that made me roll my eyes and tell her to be quiet. I mean, just watch the game and how they play, not how good some players may look...
I was thinking the whole time, "This team is from an area where there is a NCAA hockey team whose games I frequently listen to, and whose team I pray for...I wonder if they have relatives or friends here in the stands." So today I look up the team, and half the staff and roster attend or are alumni of that university...Needless to say, I can't wait to go back and interview the family and friends myself. Maybe I should pass out some cards to them, too, eh? Get a few more birds with the same stone while I'm at it...:) That's the phrase my sister and I always use when planning "projects".

Enough rambling...

Hi again Hebrews 11,

I naturally assumed you were talking about FIFA U-20 soccer since that's the talk of the town here. I like soccer but don't know much about it I have to admit. I'm more into hockey - it's faster and more exciting to me.

Have fun and may the Lord bless your endevours to witness for Him!

Dear Hebrews 11:1
My all time favorite verse for those nice cards is John 3:16.
It is the gospel in nut shell!

Also Isaiah 53:5 is so good!

This is a real work of the Lord that you are doing!
A few years back when the Pan-am Games[spellng?] were going on, Betty and her husband, John made thousands of John 3:16 cards in both English and Spanish and Christian people gave them out at the games.
Usually people would throw away gospel tracts and litter the grounds up, but these little cards would never be thrown away and made their way into several countries!

Wouldn't THAT be something Little Missionary, Julie if Todd takes one of these cards and gets saved?
That would be one big fish that our 'lil Pilgrim and our little Montreal girl catch, eh"
How wonderful would THAT be?!!!...Love Pilgrim pal, Terry

HI Lil Missionary...
Hockey is faster, but there's a reason they call soccer the beautiful game. Besides, I'm European, so it's in my blood!

Mrs. Shirkie,

Yes, John 3:16 is definitely good, I was just trying to stay away from something they might have already heard. All the hockey players we meet 'round here get that verse...Mr. Fisher and HMI would be proud of my brothers! OKay, I give them out, too...sometimes. I prefer to leave them around or...well, or get it to them in other ways. :) I'm really such a chicken!

Oh, and I certainly won't see Todd as I'm in my area, not over in Ottawa. Too bad...hey, we do our part when we go to Ottawa. Just ask our waiters/waitress' at Kelseys and out tour guides at Parliament. :)

Thank you for the scripture suggestions and for praying. I'll let you know how it goes and all. My sister said I better print plenty, because she wants to give them to the fans, too.
