Mission in Mexico 2006.

This is when I feel most like Jesus and am at my best - holding one of His children in my arms. Meet Clara - she lives in one of about 15 garbage dumps around Mexico City. She has the most beautiful smile don't you think? I wish I could have adopted her on the spot!!!

PS although this mission trip was great - I had no idea that at the end of the trip I was about to be plunged into the darkest period of my Christian walk - the "darkness" lasted almost a year. I look at this picture and think, "wow, I had no idea what was coming!" Sometimes it really is best we don't know things ahead of time. Thanks you sweet Jesus for being my Rock and my Light.

Little missionary :)

"Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? And I said, "Here I am Lord. Send me!" Isaiah 6:8

Do I ever wish I could travel abroad as a missionary, especially with my love of languages...but God has called me to the multi-ethnic, multi-cultural mission field in my backyard where I have Europeans of all faiths and nationalities, some Indians, lots fromthe Middle East...oh, and some French Canadians. "In whatsoever state (or province) I am, therewith I am content," Phil. 4:11

Dear Little Missionary..
I love this verse and I love the answer to the question!
YES!!
I love the Spanish people.
In our small gathering here, in Welland, there are about 8 Spanish people in the membership, two are from Mexico, six are from San Salvador.
They gather up Spanish people from the town every other week and have a gospel meeting in their own language.
The children are exceptional, so full of fun and always laughing!
I love to hear them sing the hymns in their own language.
Did you lean Spanish Little Missionary?

That is so cool Hebrews 11:1!
I never thought of that in that way, you know whatsoever state or "province"!!
Good one!

Passing-thru...I think we have more than one missionary heart here.
I guess we all have one, eh?
And that Pilgrim David keeps rounding more and more of 'em up!!...From PP Terry

What a little cutie-pie!

It's always interesting to look back and see how the best and worst times sometimes seem to come right after each other. Psalms 46:1 has been a verse I've leaned on many times!

Mrs. Shirkie...I hope I, especially as I am such a tradionalist and purist when it comes to scripture, did not take too much liberty with the original Hebrew/Greek to phrase it that way! :) I just thought of it when I was typing, and added it...hope it's not like adding to scripture, or anything...
