Hi, Pals!

I'm BACK! I took a leave of absence on my own, and my mind and brain are now refreshed, rested, and ready to go! (uh, where are we going? Oh, pressing heavenward, right!) I fast my mind from things like this all the tim, if I find it is becoming too consuming.

Of course, I was still praying for y'all!

My health is doing sooo good, but I really must stop stuffing myself with Kalamata olives (they are just so good!) in order to quench my cravings for fruit. It has been 2 weeks, and I am real hungry for blueberries...or strawberries. I have an easy time sticking with a diet --thank God for that with all my food allergies-- but cravings are certainly hard to work around. Please pray this will soon pass, and that I will heal fast enough that I can have my normal food again in 2 wks. rather than having to go without for 3 months.
Thank you very much for all your prayers--God is healing me, praise Him!

Thank you to whoever posted my request last night. I had 2 minutes to get on and off, and I capitalized on them. My sister does not know yet...but I can tell you now I wish my mom would have told her today, because she is not going to take it well, andI hate telling her bad news. I asked Pilot Mom to take it off for me today, because my sis wanted to get on here, and I didn't want her to see it before one of us told her. She was only able to read it all quickly a few minutes ago, and now she is all caught up. Please pray that she won't take the news too hard. Thank you.

I found a really good piece in the local Greek paper BHMA (pronounced VEE-muh), in the Orthodox Christian Faith section. Don't be alarmed, I'm not converting to Orthodoxy. I read it particularly to understand the people around me (we call it Little Greece for a reason!), and they do have some really good evangelical pieces in there sometimes that SHOCK me! Most of the time, unforunately, it is just tales about their saints, which I usually skip over, unless they have to fast or something like that. The fast for Mary is coming up August 15, and they won't be eating meat or dairy for 2 weeks if I remember correctly. Anyway, there was an excellent thought-provoking piece I will type up for you all.

I think that's it for now. Hope all is well with all ye Pals.

God bless you,
long-winded Lil Pilgrim Pal

Hi Heb 11:1 good to hear from you!

Please do not be upset by what I am about to say - you mentioned the Orthodox church in your comment. Don't be too hard on them - there really are some amazing Christians in that denomination believe it or not. I know certain beliefs they hold seem a bit out there, (eg about the saints), and their style of worship is different, but many, (not all) do know Jesus in a very personal way. I've met far too many Orthodox and Catholics to think differently. I attended a Catholic Church for the past 7 years and believe me - there are far too many misconceptions about this particular church. For example, regarding the saints - they really aren't tales - they were real people like you and me. People who struggled with sin and temptation and experienced conversion to Jesus Christ. I feel very strongly about the fact that we all need to find common ground and breakdown barriers that Satan has so gladly put in place over the centuries. He is the father of division - God is the Father of unity. Imagine what the world would think if we were unified across denominational barriers as brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. Then the world truly would know we are Christians.

Let's pray for these barriers to fall and the real Christians in every denomination to stand in Christ!

God bless you Heb 11 and welcome back!

Hi!

I'm not at all offended...I just didn't want to give the wrong impression to the rest of the Pals. Julie, the most important thing is having a relationship with GOD, not with Mary, not with the saints...this is where my neighbors get it wrong. Yes, they try so hard to be good, they go to church, they obey God as they know His Word (as the church tells them)...but they do not have a relationship with God. SOME DO! I don't discredit that. My mother was raised a devout Catholic, my father's family ignored their faith when they immigrated here when he was 6. My mother has told me so much about Catholicism, and I still manage to learn more from my neighbors...I think the saddest thing is they do not realize Jesus gave us the free gist of salvation to HEAVEN, not pergatory! We all sinned, we all fall short, but when we are saved, we still know where we are going, Thank God for that! I first became really involved amoung the Greeks when my neigbor's son died at only 55. She asked me time and again, "Where is he?!" what was I to say? I said, I will save up my money and buy a Greek Bible, my friends will teach me to read it, and I will read her Psalms of comfort. I have done the first two, but have yet to do the last. God help me.

Thank you for witing me back about that! I'm ready to discuss Catholicm and Orthodoxy any day...it sharpen my skills here at home in my neighborhood!

God bless you,
Lil Pilgrim Pal
