My Turn

Dear Pilgrim Pals:

Carol returned from Toronto yesterday afternoon following her tests at the hospital. We won't know the results for a few days. She was afraid that she wouldn't be able to complete the stress test due to some medical concerns but she did. THANK YOU so much for your prayers, dear friends. We'll keep you posted.

Two days ago I noticed that my right elbow had become very swollen, sore and very "hot" to touch. Last night it was much worse and when I showed it to Carol she insisted that I go to the emergency ward at the hospital in Peterborough.

The doctor diagnosed my elbow as having bursitis (swollen bursa sac) with infection (cellulitis). This is my third battle with cellulitis in the last two years.

They administered the anti-biotics intravenously last night and I have to go back tonight and tomorrow night for more treatments. Then they'll decide whether I can begin taking them orally. Yesterday I was so tired I could hardly cope. They told me that the infection would have led to that.

Thanks so much for praying over the next few days, dear friends. This morning we are leaving to pick up Nathan at Joy Bible Camp. Please pray for a good, safe trip. THANKS!

What a joy to have such a wonderful fellowship of committed pilgrims to pray with!

Pilot Mom, I'm so glad that Pilot has arrived. Have a wonderful time with him!

Enjoy the weekend, my friends. We continue to pray for your mother, Bob!

Gratefully,

David

David -- will be praying for U today , count on it -- but more so , COUNT ON THE LOVING CHRIST, to be INTERCEEDING and we will do what HE SAID - bring our requests to HIM , this will pass, these particular trials that U and Carol are going thru -- the only consolation is knowing that GOD KNEW weeks ago that these days would come upon U ---- your friend , Bob ---

Oh David...You are getting so many trials lately..
I will be surely praying for you as you have been praying for my family..

Today Dad and Mom Golden can move back to their apartment.
In the meantime the health board just has to be involved because there are several big holes in the apartment where plumbing haa been done and holes made to accommodate the repairs and the holes have not been covered and fixed by the landlord.
That is the best way to get "critters" into the apartment. and they will spread..

This morning as Berne and I and Betty's son, John were sitting in the front entrance of Mom and Dad's apartment, there was a man in a wheel chair waiting to get in and one of the tenants standing there said, "If you want to see a filthy apartment, well look at his!"
This struck the wrong nerve in me David..I almost started crying because this remark really hurt me.
I told that girl that that was a mean thing to say. I told her that my mom always told us that if you can't say something nice about a person, then don't say anything.
Then I told her, "What I would say about that poor guy is that I really admire him because here he is crippled and going out in a wheel chair instead of giving up on life and laying at home feeling sorry for himself!"
Shame on that girl!!
When the man came through the door, then they talked nice to him...real too bad!
Talk behind his back and treat him nice to his face!

Well please excuse me David, I am afraid you have got your long winded pilgrim pal back!!
Blame yourself and all the Pilgrim Pals for praying too much for me...Ha!...
Praying for you and Carol..From Terry

Dear Mr. Fisher,

I will keep you and all your requests in prayer.

My dad has bursitis in his elbow, too and swelling in his foot. The doctor gave him some meds, and a prescription...he's taking the first meds for now, and then I think he's switching to Bromelain so he doesn't take too much of the other stuff as to aggrevate his already-irritated stomach...

May the Lord bless and keep you!
