Powerful & Effective

Praying tonight with a special focus on those who are sick in their bodies. Lord, You are our Great Physician. Please come to our side, to heal and restore the bodies of Your precious saints, those who trust You and give their hearts to You.

"Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray....Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord..." ~ James 5:13, 14

SO TRUE -- AND SO FOR THE CHURCH -a quick little story - while pastoring in N.H., I went to visit my folks in R.I., while there, my mom asked me if I would pray for my sister who had a "fibrous mass?" on her upper thigh. Result from a car accident about 2 years earlier. Every time it rained or low pressure front came in, it would "ache" to the point, she cried. Mom said, Bob, U have been used by God, would U pray special at the Wed nite service in church. I was hesitant but Mom insisted - lol - I was just visiting of course but the people knew me - I asked if certain ones I knew would come up front and I wanted to pray for my sister, I had her come up and sat her in front of the church, 3 or 4 saintly ones came up- we laid our hands on Janice, simple prayer followed, I said, Janice , when God touches U , will U give HIM the credit, she nodded and was in tears already as she is so tender hearted and emotional. We the Church prayed that prayer, Janice got up and went and sat down - NO LIGHTNING - NO NOISE - NO SHAKING OR BAKING WENT ON - but from the night on , Janice NEVER had a single "ache" or pain from that fibrous mass --

also -- Thanks Vicki for such a good reminder with that post ---

Wonderful testimony, Bob. God worked through your faithful prayer. So many times folks think of prayer as a "last resort" rather than knowing we can seek Him first, don't you think?

Thank you, Vicki, for this encouraging post.

I like the testimony, too, PT!

God bless you,

Thanks Vicki - so true on losing the blessing that is ours by "seeking" other first --
Israelites wanted a "king" like the other nations

Thanks Heb - this happened in the Nazarene Church in Pawtucket, R.I. in 1973 - probably about 25 people tops on a wed nite service ---
