Restating Our Purpose

Perhaps it's hard to "restate" our purpose when I've never really articulated the reason for our existence in the first place. Oh, I've written a few thoughts that I've used under the PILGRIM PALS heading on this site but I've never really stated our purpose in a definitive way.

I'm going to take a stab at doing that right now...thinking as I type...or typing as I think. Whatever!

Here goes:

PILGRIM PALS is a fellowship of Christian bloggers which exists to stay in touch with God and each other through prayer and communication. We pray for, affirm, love and serve one another for the glory of God and the extension of His kingdom.

Our purpose is to pray for one another, support and encourage one another as we journey homeward.

We are all born-again Christians but come from a variety of denominational backgrounds and traditions. We may disagree on many of the non-essentials but contend for the absolute, foundational doctrines of the Christian faith.

Even though we may not agree with everything that is posted here, our purpose is NOT to enter into debates or arguments over these minor points. Of course if something is posted that is in opposition to these foundational doctrines I would hope that this would be pointed out and a biblical position clearly stated.

God has assembled a very unique fellowship of believers here at PILGRIM PALS from various countries, backgrounds and traditions. The one thing that binds us together is our common faith in the finished work of Christ at Calvary, our insistence that the Bible is God-breathed and our only basis for faith and doctrine and our love for our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Well friends, I think I'll stop there for now. More later!

Have a great time in God's house tomorrow!

Your fellow pilgrim,

~ David

Great statement, Pilgrim!

I really like it. You should put it at the top or on the sidebar of the blog.

God bless you,
