LIVING FOR ETERNITY

False Alarms serve a purpose , they "stir" us to action , they make us grateful that it wasen't the "real thing" - U hear of an accident, the word was it may have been your family , your heart beats fast and with fear U race to the phone to find out more - any "alarm" that comes close to "home" has that affect, U hear something falling down the flight of stairs from the 2nd floor, your mind races with fear that it may have been grandma or the baby , what a relief when U do find that it was the laundry basket ! Supposing it was real -- supposing this is not a "FALSE ALARM "
WHAT IF --- what if we knew the Lord was coming in 3 months - would our walk be any different ? our witness be more prayerful ? would we have a "get-together" with our friends to share with them our HOPE ? would the things of this earth grow strangely dim ? would our prayer life for those "without" take on a new meaning ? would our sharing of this world's wealth take on a new meaning ? would we be smiling more ? complaining less ? WELL OF COURSE , IF WE KNEW . Then all of us would be making some adjustments , including me or I should say , especially me !
THE LORD TELLS US TO LIVE with the thought of HIS COMING ANY DAY ------WHAT A HOPE -- LOOK UP for your REDEMPTION DRAWETH NIGH ----

If I knew I was going to die and this was my last day, I would not have to rush out and "see" anyone, or go make amends with anyone. I am as ready as I can be for when He says, "Claire, come to me."

Please don't take what I said as I'm not "in sin." That isn't what I mean. We have always tried to keep "short" accounts so if we don't see our son again, that's okay, we have told him we love him on every phone call. The same with our family and friends. We tell them we love them, we ask for forgiveness so fast because you just never, ever know.
