Praise

I've been meaning to share some encouraging news:

I met with pastor Mike last week. We got on the discussion of missions and small home groups. My church just hired a part-time pastor (Larry) who will be in charge of these two areas. Mike is excited that I'm into missions and have 5 trips under my "belt" - so he is going to pass my name on to Larry. Larry has lots of mission experience and a big heart for Latin American countries - me too!! It will be an interesting year ahead I'm sure. I must remain patient while God's plan unfolds. In the meantime, I will also get involved in a small home group when they start up again mid to late Sept.

We then discussed my "obsession" with T. and the probable reasons for this. All of sudden Mike says, "you know Julie....I know a really nice Christian man (Richard) from Brockville where I used to pastor...." (Brockville is about 3 hours from Ottawa). Yikes, I said, you match make on the side!? We laughed. He said, let's not look at it that way. He said Richard has an awesome testimony that I would likely be very encouraged to hear - freedom in Christ.
He told me Richard and I share some of the same background struggles but Richard has really broken free in Christ. So, if nothing else this will be a good Christian friend who will encourage me with his story.

I thought, how amazing that this pastor would even care about me to the point of introducing me to a friend of his - that maybe, just maybe we'd click. Pastor Mike is the complete opposite of the clergy I've been "under" for the last few years - he cares - they didn't.....Lord have mercy on them - truly.

That's great Julie! See...God knows when and who to bring into your life...sounds like you're going to be getting involved in your church...and you will have friends to guide and support you!

But question...isn't Brockville more like an hour from Ottawa?

Hi Julie,

Maybe I'm thinking of Belleville - bettcha I am?! I always get those two places mixed up for some reason. I've never been to either place if you can believe that!

1 hour hummmm, that's better :)

Great Little Missionary Julie!
I think that Pastor Mike might have meant Bellville.
Bernie just told me that Brockville is just about one and a half hours to Ottawa.
He used to work in Brockville before he moved to Ottawa where he worked at the Hunt Club.

I just KNEW that Pastor Mike sounded like a good fellow..

Passing-thru thinks that your heart is beating a little bit faster Little Missionary.. Is it?...Love Terry

Thank you for the update.

You guys are maing me laugh talking about Brockville and Belleville...it's a little closer to QC, so I know a little more about it. I've been to Brockville, and I can tell you it is about 2 hrs. from Montreal, so I'm glad Mr. Shirkie knows how far it is from OT.

I made a little time to get on here tonight...am anxiously awaiting my aunt and her friend's arrival tomorrow afternoon. The next 2 days will probably be a whirlwind! I just hope it doesn't catch me up in a chariot...not yet!! ;) Please pray that we'll all have a good time together, and that my aunt will be warm (especially in her McGill sweater we got her [for free!]), and that nothing hurtful will be said. I don't have very fond recent memories of this aunt, as she seems to say rather hurtful things to me, of all people, and I don't thinks she means it, but it isn't NICE! God made me who I am, and I can't help my height, looks, teeth, etc., so I don't take to knidly to people who have the "perfect body" and remark about the body that God made perfect for me! :)

God bless you all,
LPP

Hey, PT...I;m not complaining about me, just the way my aunt criticizes me! I always think of me as perfect in God's eyes... my aunt is like a model, God made me perfect in His eyes, and taken that no one else has ever disagreed with that except for this aunt, and another aunt who asked a nasty question when I was wearing some loose-fitting clothing...I mean, it was REALLY nasty. As my mom said, if it came from a close friend, it would be a joke, but coming from someone who rarely sees me and apparently thought I might have loose morals and values...YUCK, it was a really bad one! I'm just so glad I didn't have any friends or neighbors around to hear it!

God bless you all,
LPP

Hey Terry....my heart skipped a few beats when the good pastor suggested the "set up" - LOL - I was really taken aback - guys don't usually think of stuff like that....do they?

I'm pretty sure Mike said Richard is from Brockville - I'm the one who is all mixed up - pretty bad eh - been to Romania, Mexico etc but don't even know my own Province :) teee, hee

Hey Heb 11 - that is really sad that your aunt would say nasty things - Lord open her eyes to true beauty!!
